It’s pretty simple math. 5 – 5 – 5 A new weight loss bible which promises readers that they can lose 5 pounds in 5 days, with just 5 minutes of exercise per day. With so many celebrities backing the book, it may only be a matter of time before Kirsch becomes a household name and men and women everywhere give it a good ol’ fashioned try.
Plain and simple, the 5-day detox promises to detox your body without making you tired. In fact, during the cleanse people are meant to feel even more energized than normal. The cleanse comes with a nutrition program that is packed full of nutrients, yet is a large calorie cut for the average Joe. The only problem is that not everyone is a movie star who has 100 bucks lying around – the price of the new weight loss manual. Thankfully, Kirsch himself has been on a televised book tour, giving away many of the book’s most coveted secrets.
“There’s 5 rules” Kirsch said on a recent episode of The View. “No sugar or artificial sweeteners, no alcohol – especially not beer and wine, and no simple carbs like bread and pasta.” Rule 4 and 5 include that you can eat anything the swims or flies (meaning chicken or fish) and lots of fibrous veggies like broccoli and kale.
As for the 5 minutes a day? That’s a 5 minute series of – you guess it – 5 different workouts. Wide standing squats, planking, side planking, jumping jacks with barbells, and a side kick combo is the what Kirsch claims to be the ultimate detox workout.
While fitness bloggers are calling the detox bogus, many high profile figures swear by it. The only way to know I guess, is to try it for yourself.
